WDX Qualification Questionnaire

Introduction

The Wasabi Direct Connect (WDX) service caters to organizations needing fast, privately secured links from their on-premises data center or colocation site directly to a Wasabi storage region. Delivery of the direct connect service can be accomplished through various methods, each briefly outlined below. These methods ensure that customers receive an appropriate connection based on their specific requirements. Leveraging physical connectivity brings notable advantages to on-premise to Wasabi cloud storage, such as reduced latency and heightened network performance.

The accompanying diagram depicts a typical direct connection, showcasing the link from a customer's data center location to a Wasabi facility.

Connection Options and Speeds

Wasabi Direct Connect enables you to establish a direct network connection between your network and one of the Wasabi Direct Connect locations.

Wasabi offers two types of connections:

  • Dedicated: A physical Ethernet connection, 1Gbps or 10Gbps, associated with each customer, referred to as a Dedicated Connection.
  • Hosted: A physical Ethernet connection, 1Gbps or 10Gbps, that a Wasabi Direct Connect Partner provisions on behalf of the customer, referred to as a Hosted Connection.

Wasabi Direct Connect (WDX) Service Description

Wasabi’s WDX (Wasabi Direct Connect) service provides a Layer 2 connection directly from the customer’s data center to a Wasabi storage region. The customer can choose the Layer 2 service delivery from their Provider/Carrier or MSP of choice.

Wasabi’s WDX Dedicated connection service will include a standard Letter of Authorization (LOA) for placing a cross-connect order with the data center provider. Wasabi's WDX Hosted connection service is offered via our supported partners listed below:

Flexential Hosted Services (US Only)

Wasabi Direct Connect with other Direct Connect services for Cloud to Cloud

Wasabi Direct Connect service is also available for connecting to other Hyperscalers, such as AWS Direct Connect, Azure Express Route, and GCP Dedicated Interconnect.

An example of a Wasabi Direct Connect workflow to our data center in any region is shown below:

  1. Customer requests WDX service from Wasabi Sales. A WDX Questionnaire document will be provided to the customer and used to qualify the circuit requirements.
  2. The WDX EPL service will require a LOA/CFA for the customer to provide to their service provider to establish the cross connect to the specified physical port in the data center. The WDX Cloud Fabric option does not require a LOA and will be established through the cloud fabric vendors portal.
  3. Wasabi will provide turn up support and confirmation of L3 connectivity.
  4. Customer and Wasabi confirm access to all Wasabi services over the WDX Service.

Supported L3 Routing Options (Cloud Fabric Example Only)
Ethernet Private Line (EPL) L3 requirements are the same for either L2 transport

Supported L3 Routing Options

After the successful completion of the physical connection at the data center, Wasabi will perform the network routing configuration, typically within 24 hours. Upon completion, you'll gain access to your Wasabi private network through the direct connection.
